The mission of Casa de Luz is to bring light, love and hope to people through the resources they need to transform their lives physically, emotionally and spiritually. Casa’s good work has resulted in a happier, healthier, more productive neighborhood and helped to break the cycles of crime, poverty, and abuse. (John 13:35)
We are able to provide the following services to neighborhood families through the generosity of volunteer time and donated resources.
Casa’s food pantry is one of the busiest in Las Vegas. We need volunteers to help with unloading shipments, stocking food, checking in families and cleaning up. We can’t do it without you. (Hours are 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday. Must have photo ID and proof of residency for pick-up.)
Our outreach team engages our neighbors weekly. We meet them at their doors, ask how they are doing, deliver some food, and invite them to Casa de Luz. This typically happens on Saturday mornings as a group at 10am.
Help us beautify and unite our neighborhood through gardening. We are in need of volunteers to help with the basics of the art of gardening as we try to make the neighborhood beautiful and provide fresh vegetables to local families.
Casa de Luz provides a worship service on Saturday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Volunteers are needed for a variety of activities from setting up, to cleaning to fellowshipping.
Special Occasions or Events
Casa de Luz has many different events throughout the year from back to school, Thanksgiving and Christmas events and outreaches. These events are not possible without volunteers lending a hand.
Casa de Luz offers a tutoring program for elementary and Jr. High School age kids in our neighborhood. Partnering with Club Christ students typically see up to two times more growth in their reading scores than their peers thanks to our innovative assessment and personal learning plans.
